This project is focused on educating, empowering, sensitization and awareness of the girl child on menstruation matters. Following recent issues on menstruation practices and its ills associated such as menstruation being as a taboo, or girls feeling there are mistakes for being born into this world, absenteeism from school and menstruation stigma, a club known as Dignity for Girls’ (D4G) was initiated to sensitize girls on proper menstruation practices.
This project’s goal was to find out how important menstrual hygiene is considered among teenage girls in Gwagwalada Area Council. The project investigated what extent cultural and religious practices in the region affect teenage girls on menstrual concerns.
