KALU Institute is a full member of the Sphere Association, the successor to the Sphere Project, which began in 1997 as an inter-agency initiative to establish agreed minimum standards for humanitarian crisis response. Its flagship publication, the Sphere Handbook, is one of the most widely known and internationally recognized sets of principles and minimum standards for humanitarian response.
KALU Institute has signed an agreement for the “Development and Accreditation of Studies in Humanitarian Action” with the University of the Americas and the Caribbean and the Latin American Center for Scientific Research and Innovation (Colima, Mexico).
Kalu Institute is a member of the International Humanitarian Studies Association (IHSA). IHSA is a network dedicated to the study of humanitarian crises caused by natural disasters, conflicts, or political instability. Humanitarian studies focus on how humanitarian crises evolve, how they affect people and their institutions, communities, and societies, and the solutions that are implemented in response.
Kalu Institute is a member of the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN). EDEN is open to credible educational institutions—such as universities, international networks, research organizations, and companies—interested in virtual learning. Its mission is to share knowledge and foster understanding among professionals in online education, and to promote best practices across Europe.
An agreement has been signed between Kalu Institute and the National University of Colombia to strengthen cooperation aimed at developing training programs on topics related to humanitarian action, forced displacement, armed conflict, and socioeconomic development.
In Cameroon, KALU has signed a collaboration agreement with ACADEXE – the Academy for Excellence. ACADEXE is a prestigious educational institution specializing in humanitarian studies, based in Douala. This agreement aims to share knowledge and learning resources between both organizations in order to expand the course offerings for our students and to organize training events in Cameroon.
Kalu Institute is a member of the Institute of Humanitarian Studies (IEH), contributing to the effort to promote research on humanitarian issues among academia, NGOs, and United Nations system agencies. This initiative focuses on improving decision-making, prioritization, and the quality of humanitarian assistance.
D2000 is an NGO focused on promoting development in Sub-Saharan Africa. They work in areas such as health, nutrition, water access, environment, education, and infrastructure development. A framework collaboration agreement has been signed with them for the development of volunteering, training, and research.
Through this agreement, D2000 may request trained cooperation volunteers for their projects in Equatorial Guinea, as well as support for research on topics related to international cooperation. They will also have access to training under favorable conditions.

Namasté is an NGO operating in Nepal under the principle of “local solutions to local problems.” They currently manage volunteer opportunities in Nepal aimed at providing a home for abandoned orphaned children, as well as promoting community development. A framework collaboration agreement has been signed with them for the development of volunteering, training, and research.
